It was a busy week in the VoIP Routers sector. Here are some of the major stories.
Edgewater Networks has introduced the EdgeMarc 7301 to its growing lineup of enterprise session border controllers (ESBCs). The new border controllers are designed to offer price performance for large and small enterprises. It lets enterprises and service providers enhance the performance of their voice and video over IP services. Also, the EdgeMarc 7301 enables medium-sized businesses, large enterprises and service providers to offer managed services such as SIP trunking and hosted PBX (News - Alert). It also combines advanced voice and data features alongside a full suite of networking capabilities into a single, easy-to-use enterprise session border controller. And it offers simultaneous services including voice, voice quality monitoring, traffic management, high capacity data throughput and firewall.
In another story, CEVA has licensed multiple instances of its CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSP family of cores to Yamaha (News - Alert). The cores are designed for handling complex pre-processing and post-processing of voice and audio algorithms, including always-on voice activation. The TeakLite product line offers all these high-end features with extremely low power consumption. CEVA (News - Alert)-TeakLite is a successful licensable DSP architecture in the semiconductor industry, with 3 billion audio/voice chips shipped spanning more than 100 licensees, embedded in over 100 audio and voice software packages with around 30 active ecosystem partners worldwide. CEVA-TeakLite-4 is offered as a scalable platform and extensible architecture framework, which enables users to choose the optimal core based on their specific requirements for audio/voice applications.
And Toshiba has integrated multiple Imagination IP cores in its new TZ5000 series applications processors. Newly added to Toshiba’s (News - Alert) ApP Lite series, the TZ5000 series of applications processors, integrate high-speed wireless LAN and NAND flash memory in one package. These processors are ideal for applications such as over-the-top (OTT) tuners, IP media boxes, wearable devices, digital signage and thin-client terminal devices.
