Here’s this week’s look back at what had us all talking in the world of VoIP, which included companies eyeing up new territories for expansion.
Canadian technology company Moimstone has been doing good business in Japan and South Korea with its VoIP products and services but the company is getting ready to expand its market a little closer to home. Moimstone has announced a partnership with Dotcomm for VoIP phone and Wi-Fi services in North America. “We look forward to working with the DotComm team,” said Rob Bakshi, Moimstone CEO. “Combined with our other recently announced distribution agreements, our partnership with DotComm furthers our global strategy to take our products and solutions beyond South Korea and Japan.”
Staying with VoIP services in North America, USA VoIP has set some new ambitious goals for spreading into new areas across the USA. Speaking with TMC’s (News - Alert) Eric Linask, the company’s general manager Nacho Carbrera revealed that it is going to start a training center for VoIP knowledge in Spanish. “That’s quite new for the market….we’ll speak about the most advanced technologies: WebRTC and others,” he said. TMCnet also notes that the company is well positioned to take advantage of changes taking place in the telephony market in Latin America.
The week wasn’t without its awards and recognitions either. VoIP solutions manufacturers Patton (News - Alert) Electronics won the 2013 Unified Communications Excellence Award presented by Internet Telephony magazine, published by TMC. This particular award recognizes Patton’s SmartNode solution and the company’s innovation in IP-based, voice-and-data network implemented in northern Italy for the Modena regional government, in response to two severe earthquakes that struck the region.
“We chose the Patton SmartNode SN4940 in order to guarantee maximum reliability—which in today’s market, professional VoIP systems absolutely must offer,” said ATS Business Development Manager, Stefano Carlini. “Whenever we plan and deploy UC solutions, the extensive range of high-quality SmartNode™ models is a key factor in our customers’ strategic decisions."
“As a resident of Mirandola I have personally experienced the events of the earthquake and its consequences. It is rewarding to know that we contributed to the restoration of our territory,” added Stefano.
That’s this week’s round-up of news from all things VoIP, thanks for stopping by.
