Whaleback Systems Intros a New Managed Voice Service for Businesses

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Whaleback Systems (News - Alert) has introduced CrystalBlue Lite, a new managed voice service for businesses that will be offered by carriers and service providers selling SIP trunking services.

CrystalBlue Lite features a new architecture for the delivery of managed VoIP services via the carrier channel. Company officials said that this enables SMBs to employ enterprise-class business telephony services and eliminates capital expenditure costs.

David Zwicker, vice president of marketing at Whaleback said that CrystalBlue Lite is a new managed VoIP offering designed specifically for carriers deploying SIP trunks and enabling operators to deliver an enterprise-class managed voice service to the underserved SMB sector at a very compelling price point.

The key feature of CrystalBlue Lite is a new carrier-class, fault tolerant IP PBX (News - Alert) appliance that resides at the end customer site. Company officials said that the remotely managed appliance is deployed by the company and integrates with SIP trunking services and broadband access circuits offered by carriers and multiple system operators, or “MSOs.”

Company officials said that this newest offering combines economic SIP trunking services with a managed service. Plus, carriers benefit by being able to sell SIP trunks as a managed voice service instead of just empty pipes.

Additionally, the company also introduced a new carrier partner program -- a strategic go-to-market program designed for MSOs, competitive local exchange carriers, or “CLECs,” interexchange carriers, or “IXCs,” and Internet service providers, or “ITSPs,” interested in introducing the managed service to the SMB sector.

With the new carrier-focused channel partner program, the company expects to provide carriers the enabling technology, network operations, customer support, billing and overall project management.

In addition, the company is also expected to train new carrier partners’ direct and indirect sales channels and support their efforts with co-branded materials and marketing efforts.
