Fitness and Sports Technology Expo Shapes Agenda to Highlight Industry Performance Trends and Tips

Norwalk, CT – November 6, 2013 – TMC (News - Alert) today announced the agenda for its Fitness and Sports Technology (FAST) Expo, held December 9, 2013, at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, California. The FAST Expo will share expertise and insight about the burgeoning market for fitness and sports technologies, with a sharp focus on the use of wearable, mobile and data tech.


The event will kick off with a keynote address by STATS (News - Alert) Director of Elite Development, Paul Robbins at 11:30 am, titled “No Stone Left Unturned – STATS and the Discovery and Analysis of Real-Time Player Game Data.” During the keynote, Robbins will explore how the Women's National Soccer Team and other U.S. pro sports such as the NBA quantify and analyze every movement of live game action throughout an entire season with the installation of STATS SportVUPlayer Tracking technology.

At 12:30 pm, adidas’ VP of Innovation, Wearable Sports Electronics, Qaizar Hassonjee will deliver a presentation titled “Tracking Player Biometric and Performance Data in Real-Time through Wearable Technology.” Hassonjee will dive into the adidas miCoach Elite wearable technology platform’s ability to aggregate both individual and team biometric data and directly correlate this information with real-time, on-field activities. Attendees will learn how to proactively evaluate myriad player activities, as well as numerous health markers in order to achieve better coaching and training insights.

Additionally, FAST Expo will feature educational programming, demos and more, and sessions during the one-day, action-packed event include:

  • Turning Real-Time Biometric and On-court Data into Actionable Performance Gains: The Major Big Data Challenge- This session explores the challenges of delivering effective sports intelligence that can be turned into actionable and truly coachable intelligence, and what data analysis options exist to solve the problem.
  • Turning Data into True Sports Advantages- This session presents several case studies where real-time player on-field, on-court and/or biometric data was used to build a true competitive edge or coaching/training advantage. The case studies will present specific problems and offer high-level perspectives on creating and executing actionable and coachable events.
  • Sensor Technology, M2M and Sports Fitness and Safety- This session explores the options available—through devices such as Jawbone’s advanced BodyMedia devices and mobile apps such as MapMyRun—for schools, sports and health clubs and related businesses to utilize wearable technology and mobile health software to build consumer, customer and member loyalty and deeper fitness awareness.
  • Health and Fitness in Consumers Market- This session explores the options available – through devices such as Jawbone’s advanced BodyMedia devices and mobile apps such as MapMyRun for sports and health clubs and related businesses to utilize wearable technology and mobile health software to build consumer, customer and member loyalty and deeper fitness awareness.
