Pivothead is a company that designs and makes the world's only 1080p high definition hands free (HDHF) video recording sunglasses, which make it easier than ever to record video while on the go. Designed to make recording video as comfortable and lightweight as possible, while still being hands free, the company's offerings are suitable not only for outdoor enthusiasts, but also the average consumer.

Currently, the Pivothead lineup features four unique personal POV models, separated into half-frame — the Moab and Recon — and full-frame — Durango and Aurora — models and features 17 unique styles and 13 accessory lenses, as well as custom prescription lenses. All models, which will be demonstrated at the Outdoor Retailer Fashion Show this month, feature incorporated professional-grade optics, while polarized lenses are available on select lenses.

The camera on each pair of glasses is placed on the bridge of the glasses for what Pivothead says is the "truest first-person perspective possible." The lens of the camera features an eight megapixel Sony CMOS sensor and is capable of capturing full 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second in addition to still images up to eight megapixels. With eight gigabytes of internal memory, each pair of glasses can store up to one hour of video at full 1080p HD resolution.

"Unlike other video recording products for the outdoor enthusiast market like awkward helmet cams that are obtrusive, unnatural and oftentimes expensive, we've designed Pivothead HD recording sunglasses to be affordable and a natural part of your everyday wardrobe so they're always available at a moment's notice," said Christopher Cox (News - Alert), founder and president of Pivothead, in a statement.

"Our customers are life enthusiasts who want to capture their children's soccer games and family picnics as well as their whitewater rafting expeditions, and our ever-expanding line of stylish imaging eyewear is perfect for that lifestyle," he added

In October, Pivothead launched Air Pivothead, a portable wireless drive/router, which allows users to share content stored on their Pivothead glasses via Wi-Fi with iOS and Android (News - Alert) devices.
