Last week we watched as several companies announced that they would have smartwatches available for this coming holiday season, well it does seem that the trend still continues this week. Asus is a Taiwanese computer hardware and electronics company. The name has been associated with PCs, laptops and mobile phones, just to name a few, it seems that this week we can smartwatch maker to the list.

A name generally associated with watches is Swatch. I still have one of their watches from when the company launched in 1983 and, to date it still runs perfectly. I believe that a while ago, Swatch tried its hand at something that resembled a smartwatch, but the device never took off. That along with the seemingly endless cavalcade of smartwatches that we have been witnessing over the past couple of weeks has not deterred Swatch from developing the Swatch Touch.

Martian Watches is considered to be a developer of fashionable smartwatches. This week the company introduced the world to the Martian Notifier. This is described as a line of modern and stylish analog smartwatches and they are now available at over 900 AT&T (News - Alert) retail stores. The headlines read that it is an award winning smartwatch that displays personalized alerts from thousands of best in class apps.

We have all seen the news and heard the stories of confrontations between law enforcement and civilians. It seems that a day does not go by lately that there isn’t an incident. One solution would be to have members of the law enforcement community to wear body cameras. Oddly enough, I believe that New York City is actively looking into several options of head and chest mounted cameras. I wonder what the outcome will be.

People are not the only ones who can strap a camera to themselves and “capture the moment.” GoPro Fetch is a harness designed to fit dogs of all sizes and shapes. Attached to the harness is a GoPro (News - Alert) camera. Now you can get an idea of what your pooch sees as its walking down the street or digging a hole to bury a bone.

These are just of few of the stories that we have looked at this week. You should read the details of all of these stories, as well as find out what else is happening in the world of wearable technology. Go to Wearable Tech World and see what has been going on.

If you missed this year’s Wearable Tech Expo, this is your opportunity to sign up early for next year’s event. Once again it will take place in New York City, in July 2015. You can view some demos and register now at Wearable Tech Expo.
