PHOENIX, May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorneys at Fennemore Craig, a leading Mountain West law firm, announced today that they have found a new use for the Apple (News - Alert) Watch. Integrating the watch's features into their business model, the firm's attorneys are better able to understand their clients' response to injury and they now communicate in new, more personal ways while advancing office functionality.

Attorneys at Fennemore Craig Law Firm leverage Apple Watch for holistic legal approach

The leaders of the personal injury group at Fennemore Craig, Marc Lamber and James Goodnow, have integrated the Apple Watch with their practice group's current use of Google (News - Alert) Glass, FitBit, iPads, and other tech tools, to help monitor, report, and improve their clients' physical, mental and emotional well-being. The technology is also being used to improve the firm's office health and efficiency at the same time.

The advancements in technology allow Lamber and Goodnow to develop unique solutions for clients who have suffered catastrophic personal injuries that have limited their mobility or ability to communicate, including brain injury victim Betsy Martinez.

Lamber and Goodnow currently represent Martinez, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in an automobile crash last year.  They initially loaned a Google Android (News - Alert) Wear wach to Martinez as a solution to communicate with her about her case while also helping to improve the quality of her life.  Martinez is now using the Apple Watch, which she finds to be superior to the Android version of the product.

Martinez is using the Apple Watch to monitor her daily activity and communicate hands-free with her legal team.

"My injury has had a major impact on my life," said Martinez. "The Apple Watch and the other wearable technology loaned to me have been a huge help.  Now, not only can I quickly communicate with my legal team, but it's given me peace of mind.  With the Apple Watch's Digital Touch features, I now have a direct connection to the team when I need it.  I'm grateful to the team for this program — it's made a big difference in my life."

In a pilot program, a select number of Fennemore Craig clients are currently borrowing the Apple Watch, free of charge, as a part of the services they receive from the firm.  The team has harnessed many of the watch's unique functions, including its acclaimed Digital Touch feature.

"The Apple Watch helps us communicate with clients quickly and in ways never before possible," said Goodnow. "We've witnessed first-hand the importance of fast, seamless communication with clients. Simply put, the Apple Watch takes communication to a new level."

In addition to client communication, the group has implemented the Apple Watch's biofeedback functions.  In the program, team members utilize the Apple watch and other fitness products to gauge heart rate and to control stress and overall wellness.

The Apple Watch is the latest piece of technology that Lamber and Goodnow have successfully integrated into their law practice. They have been featured by Apple in a case study for their innovative use of the iPad, and they received accolades for their novel use of Google Glass with a double amputee client.

"The legal system can be very intimidating and our unique use of technology makes the process more accessible for our clients," said Lamber. "Our team incorporates a holistic approach to legal matters to represent the whole person, which includes but is not limited to our firm's technology use."
