Mercedes-Benz Singapore, a division of Daimler South, announced the launch of its mobile company portal.
Gilbert Kwek, vice president, sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz Singapore, said, “Considering the rapidly increasing number of mobile Web users in Singapore, our goal was for them to reach the same level of engagement as visitors to our main website.”
Netbiscuits (News - Alert), a provider of cloud software, formulated this mobile site. Netbiscuits serves the mobile Internet programs for premium online and media companies such as eBay, Universal Music, MTV Networks (News - Alert) and Axel Springer.
Kwek explained that Netbiscuits is the right technology partner in achieving this.
“Our mobile website even feels like a mobile application. Moreover, our portal is optimized to suit each accessing device ranging from smartphones or media tablets down to Web-enabled feature phones,” Kwek added.
Company officials said that the Website http://m.mercedes-benz.com.sg will provide mobile users with condensed information of the Mercedes-Benz Singapore Website in a feature-rich manner and appealing design.
This Web portal also includes a virtual car showroom that features the product’s highlights, technical data, picture galleries, and pricing information. It also offers easy access to the manufacturer’s innovations as well as the latest news and events including promotions and offers.
Visitors can watch the TV commercial of the new Mercedes-Benz super sports car.
A contact form and information on local Service Centers round off the mobile offering, they added.
Joerg Krahnert, managing director of Netbiscuits APAC operations in Singapore, said, “Mercedes-Benz in Singapore is one of the first automotive companies in South-East
Asia to fully embrace the mobile Web by offering a mobile-optimized portal.”
“The mobile Website of Mercedes-Benz Singapore is an excellent example of how to drive user excitement and at the same time focus on the customer’s needs and the mobile use situation on the go. We are glad to have been able to support Mercedes-Benz in creating brand value in the mobile channel,” Krahnert added.
Earlier in July Netbiscuits announced it has developed an iPhone (News - Alert) application for Germany's RTL Television on behalf of RTL interactive. The hybrid app is a combination of a Website and application that employs HTML5 technologies as well as the native functions of the iPhone, company officials stated.
