ProSent Mobile, a leading provider of next-generation mobile interactive platforms, recently teamed up with Dole Food to promote food and nutrition issues via bringing recipes in Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter directly to the user’s mobile phone, along with food coupons and other related content.

Powered by the PorSent Mobile, the Dole Mobile Club will allow Dole’s customers to immediately download a recipe or coupon seen in Facebook or Twitter directly to their cellular phone. Dole is the largest producer and marketer of high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables, its speciality being organic bananas. It is also involved actively in nutrition research.

ProSent Mobile enables next-generation interactive communication and commerce platform, where brands can engage their customers in myriad ways, anywhere, anytime, using the customer’s choice of mobile technology including voice, text, mobile Web, or mobile applications. It operates in a very simple way enabling long-term mobile strategy as well as lower total cost of ownership. It captures the brand’s data, integrates it with their other data sources to provide a unified point-of-information, which will be available for all mobile applications and functionalities.

The Dole Mobile Club converged the social media and the mobile communications technology to provide continuous access to recipes, nutrition facts, coupons, and other related contents to customers, irrespective of their location; they can be in a kitchen, a supermarket, at a resort, or even traveling. The customer has to click the link that is provided, enter their phone number, and the recipe is immediately downloaded to their mobile phone. They can also sign up and receive alerts for new recipes or food coupons. It has been quite successful, based on the rave reviews from its members.

In a release, Marty Ordman, vice president of marketing for Dole, said, "Dole has long been committed to employing the best available technology for everything, whether it is for research, packaging or digital marketing. We are applying those same exacting standards to mobile communication with consumers. That's why we selected ProSent Mobile for the critical task of ensuring a continuous and accurate dialogue with them."

Posenjit Sen, founder and chief executive officer of ProSent Mobile, added, "Dole is an international leader in food, nutrition and service to its customers. Dole is taking a leadership role in harnessing the power of mobile and social media to provide its customers timely, complete and useful information about food and nutrition. ProSent Mobile is extremely pleased to be the engine that enables Dole consumers to get the information they need to provide delicious, healthy meals for their families."
