It’s July - which means school’s out, the days of summer are in full swing and for many teens it’s time for summer camp. What if I told you summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore? I’m not saying you’ll be lakeside, running the ropes course or making s’mores, but the benefits may be equally as sweet.
In the Web-scale networking community we span the world of web-scale and a popular topic in recent weeks is Carrier Ethernet. Ciena is offering an opportunity to attend Carrier Ethernet Summer Camp. This four part webinar series begins today, with industry expert Brian Lavallee. Lavallee will offer insight into the world of Power over Ethernet (PoE).
The series continues on July 14 with “Sync or Swim: Getting Packets in Sync,” which will feature a question and answer session with John Hawkins and Bashar Abdulah. Hawkins is a 25 year industry veteran, and Adbulah plays an integral role at Ciena as PN Product Line Architect. The webinar will span the cutting edge in synchronization, standards and best practices.
July 19 offers “Trailblazing Legacy Services over Packet Networks” with industry expert John Hawkins. Hawkins is well versed in the trials and tribulations of supporting legacy services, and will delve deep into circuit emulation technologies and strategies for a TDM to packet migration.
The final session of the series, “Customer Premises Equipment : Small (and Smart) Is Beautiful” illustrates the benefits in virtual network functions. Those that have tried know that hurdles can arise when migrating to a software defined model; this session will highlight best practices for implementation.
