Allot (News - Alert) Communications, a provider of bandwidth management and optimization solutions, recently announced that its WebSafe Personal offering will power the brand-new Secure Net service from Vodafone (News - Alert) Germany. This technology allows mobile operators to roll out network-wide security services that enhance the mobile Internet experience of each and every customer.
Secure Net is a network-based Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) solution for mobile devices that includes a full range of anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-phishing features. As it is fully integrated with the Vodafone network, there is no need for an app or software download and one person on a single device can manage the security of all connected devices. The offering has a negligible impact on battery life and performance, and works flawlessly on any Vodafone-compatible device. A healthy list of parental control features makes the service especially useful for families.
“Digital threats on mobile devices are rising in magnitude and sophistication. Our Secure Net service powered by Allot allows customers to use the mobile Internet safely and economically by filtering out harmful content and malware before it reaches the mobile device, all without impacting device performance or battery life,” said Frank Vahldiek, Director of Consumer Services at Vodafone Germany. “The Secure Net service is accessible from any Vodafone-connected mobile device and provides peace of mind to parents who worry about their child's online activity or to users who fear viruses and phishing scams while surfing the Web.”
Allot WebSafe Personal is fully integrated with Allot Service Gateways, which are high-performance DPI-based platforms that enable deployment of new digital services in fixed, mobile and cloud networks that are on the path to software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualized network services (NFV). WebSafe Personal allows operators such as Vodafone Germany to roll out these value-added security and parental control tools in a way that is convenient and inherently useful for their customers.
Mobile operators are increasingly keen to the benefits of rolling out network-wide services that offer unbeatable reliability and help ensure customer satisfaction. In addition to providing these benefits, WebSafe Personal can be deployed in multi-tenancy mode to let customers customize security settings or single-tenancy mode to offer everyone the same set of features. Furthermore, on-demand reporting tools give customers and their families insight into mobile browsing habits and peace-of-mind that their data is secure.
“Vodafone Germany chose Allot because of its best-of-breed network-based SECaaS offering, which is designed for ease of operation at the highest scale,” said Gary Drutin, Chief Customer Officer at Allot Communications (News - Alert). “Leveraging our recent acquisition of Optenet, Allot is committed to enabling a safe and secure mobile experience for users around the globe.”
