The global economy is nuanced; each region introduces particular, unique needs and demands. And as we see the proliferation of this current phase of digital transformation, emerging markets are gathering attention making the appointment of leadership in these sectors vital.
Ciena announced today the naming of four executives in the Asia Pacific arena. Each team member will play an integral role in the adaptive networking provider’s future plans. Most notably, Ciena appointed Dion Leung as Regional Managing Director of Asia.
Leung is tasked with Ciena’s strategy and execution for Asia Pacific Expansion. Leung will be based in Singapore and report to Ciena VP and General Manager of Asia Pacific & Japan Rick Seeto. Having served as VP of Business Development in Asia for Coriant (News - Alert), Leung is well versed in what lays ahead.
Joining Leung are three new appointees. Ngoc Vu Duc is a new Sales Engineer based in Vietnam; Wong Kian Soon was named Sales Engineering Manager for North Asia (including Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia); and KokChen Lim was named Sales Engineer in Malaysia.
“Digital transformation occurring across Asia is forcing network operators to re-think how they architect their networks. Particularly in emerging markets, operators have unique needs that must be addressed to make their networks more intelligent and programmable. Ciena continues to expand our reach and influence in the region with local leaders and experts who can guide customers toward implementing adaptive networks that are capable of supporting current and future capacity demands,” explained Rick Seeto, Vice President and General Manager of APJ, Ciena.
Compiling an exceptional team is no small task, Ciena is serving to set strong example for those in the Web-scale networking space. Now the team is in place on to adaptive networking.
