Tellabs is advancing its mobile backhaul to the next level to enable service providers to handle growing bandwidth demands.
It advanced smart mobile backhaul solution provides a range of benefits including improved cost-efficiency, greater capacity and added intelligence.

- Alert) reduces the cost per bit for high-capacity services such as video and enables service providers to offer new, high-capacity services and support machine-to-machine and traditional voice services, which use less capacity, but need to be highly reliable.
The company notes that the joining of mobile backhaul with a smart mobile packet core enables application awareness, network visibility and control, and network optimization for performance and cost.
Tellabs has decided to decided to deliver smart mobile backhaul solutions this year in which Tellabs 8600 Managed Edge System and Tellabs 8800 Multiservice Router Series mobile backhaul networks work in conjunction with the Tellabs SmartCore 9100 mobile packet core platform.
All are managed by the Tellabs 8000 Intelligent Network Manager and supported by mobile backhaul professional services expertise.
Tellabs has also set its plans for 2012 and has decided to enhance its smart mobile backhaul solution with dynamic capabilities to enable new revenue streams from advertising and applications.
"We are focused on helping customers succeed with smart mobile backhaul networks," said Dan Kelly, executive vice president, Tellabs global products. "We've enhanced the scalability of networks by tripling the capacity of the Tellabs 8600 platform and more than doubling the capacity of the Tellabs 8800 platform."
