Corning (News - Alert) MobileAccess recently announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Graybar, a global distributor of electrical, communications and data networking products and provider of related supply chain management and logistics services.

According to the terms of the agreement, Graybar will distribute Corning MobileAccess’ (News - Alert) distributed antenna systems (DAS) solutions. MobileAccessVE provides cellular signal distribution over existing CAT-5e/6 LAN cabling, without impacting LAN performance or capacity. MobileAccessVE is the first cellular solution validated with the Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Wireless Network.

The solution takes advantage of existing LAN cabling for cellular signal distribution, while maintaining full Ethernet and wireless LAN capabilities. This cost-effective approach does not consume LAN capacity and minimizes the disruption and deployment costs associated with new cabling projects and conventional infrastructure solutions.

The MobileAccessVE platform is 100 percent transparent to WLAN equipment, enabling cellular signal coexistence alongside Ethernet signals passed through to WLAN APs. Tested and validated with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, the VE solution provides a worry-free, plug-and-play design that uses existing CAT-5/6 cabling infrastructure to reliably distribute cellular services at a cost that is comparatively lower than conventional solutions.

In other news, Anixter (News - Alert), a supplier of communications and security products, electrical and electronic wire and cable, and fasteners, recently announced that it has signed an agreement and is partnering with Corning MobileAccess to deploy the full line of Corning MobileAccess distributed antenna systems solutions.
