Qualcomm (News - Alert) Atheros Inc., a provider of wireless and wired technologies for the mobile, networking, computing and consumer electronics markets, has recently introduced the Killer Wireless-N 1202 Wi-Fi module and the Killer E2200 Ethernet controller.
Officials said that both the products offer unprecedented performance for all online applications through Killer's exclusive Advanced Stream Detect technology, which identifies and prioritizes all network traffic. They also offer advanced control by automatically classifying and prioritizing gaming, video and audio network data to provide a superior, uninterrupted online entertainment experience.
The Advanced Stream Detect technology ensures important applications that require high-speed connectivity get priority over less-important traffic.
For the first time, the newly announced Killer Wireless-N 1202 high-performance, 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi module introduces Bluetooth, which offers users the ability to play online games or stream media while simultaneously having Bluetooth connectivity. This would prove to be an important feature for online gamers who use Bluetooth-enabled peripherals.
In a press release, said Mike Cubbage, director of business development, networking business unit, Qualcomm Atheros, said, “The Killer Wireless-N 1202 and the E2200 stay true to our promise of providing the best in online application performance, intelligence and control for consumers of both desktop and laptop computers.”
He added, “These products create a superior entertainment and real-time communications experience for the end user by ensuring that critical online applications get the bandwidth and priority they need, when they need it.”
The Killer E2200 high-performance Ethernet controller is an adaptive gigabit Ethernet controller that provides better online gaming and online media performance as compared to other standard Ethernet solutions.
In related news, Qualcomm Atheros (News - Alert) recently launched the AR4100P, an 802.11n single-stream Wi-Fi system-in-package with integrated networking stack. According to a release, the AR4100P is an enhanced version of the FCC (News - Alert)-certified AR4100 that includes an integrated IPv4/IPv6 TCP/IP stack.
