AT&T (News - Alert) customers have access to the country's biggest 4G network, which provides coverage for 260 million people. This means more AT&T customers can access 4G speeds on the latest devices, tablets, and smartphones compared to customers on any other network. These customers can also do more of the things they love faster and in more places.

Recently, Sierra Wireless (News - Alert) has made its AirLink GX440 rugged wireless gateway for the AT&T 4G LTE network available. The Sierra Wireless AirLink GX440 provides the improved bandwidth needed for applications including high-quality wireless video surveillance, multi-data-stream wireless connections to branch locations and so on.

AirLink (News - Alert) GX gateways are created to be utilized in mobile environments (such as fleet management, field service, and public safety) or for fixed/portable settings (such as industrial, utilities, security, enterprise, and point-of-sale applications).

They provide a combination of features, including advanced processor performance, improved ruggedness, and remote management and configuration capabilities with AirLink device management tools. They also offer an expansion slot for hardware feature improvements such as additional physical interfaces or wireless local and personal area networking, the company stated in a press release.

“The AirLink GX440 offers AT&T customers a high-bandwidth solution that enables them to take advantage of AT&T’s LTE (News - Alert) network for a wide range of applications,” said Emmanuel Walckenaer, SVP, Solutions and Services for Sierra Wireless. “The combination of rugged hardware; powerful, flexible software; and integration of deployment and management makes the AirLink GX440 a compelling solution, and we’re pleased to be able to offer it to AT&T customers.”

Recently, the company announced that Audi has chosen Sierra Wireless's AirPrime embedded wireless modules to assist in creating and testing an LTE-connected infotainment system.
