There are few things more irritating than someone mooching off your Wi-Fi connection. It’s bad enough in a residential area, but if your network belongs to a business, security is essential. Airtight Networks knows the importance of a secure network, and has been the leading wireless enterprise security vendor for several years.
While AirTight’s flagship product is a wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS), it’s been moving into enterprise cloud-managed Wi-Fi access, as well as for industries such as retail and hospitality. As many enterprises have to work with multiple branch offices, consistency can be tricky across multiple locations. For that, AirTight’s “plug and play” solution automatically downloads policies from the AirTight cloud, allowing for identical policies across multiple locations.
There are plans to launch a new Wi-Fi access product, the C60 model, as well as a dual-radio device combining Wi-Fi access with AirTight’s WIPS on a single platform. HTML5 user interface is also on its way. Information on those will likely be presented at Interop in New York, Data Connectors in Denver, IP Expo in London, and PCI (News - Alert) community meetings.
I recently spoke with AirTight’s Della Lowe, Sr. Director of Corporate Marketing, and Kaustubh Phanse, Principal Wireless Architect. They told me that “AirTight Networks (News - Alert) provides the most secure, most scalable cloud-managed Wi-Fi access with wireless security at the most competitive price point.” While I don’t have any numbers to compare them to, from what I’ve heard, I’m willing to take them at their word.
