The Z-Wave Alliance is a consortium of major independent manufacturers who have agreed to create wireless home control products based on the Z-Wave open standard. Irrespective of whom originally manufacturers the item, having this standard means every product that bears the Z-Wave mark will work with all other Z-Wave products, with no special programming.
Recently, the alliance announced its 700th interoperable product. This major milestone comes within 90 days after its record setting 650th product certification.
This monthly showcases the emerging global acceptance of the Z-Wave wireless control technology as the important enabler behind the "Internet of Things." The landmark 700th product is the ARZ Roof Window Roller Shutter by FAKRO, a roof window manufacturer with 15 percent of the worldwide market.
The product offers various energy saving benefits and is designed for FAKRO roof windows and retro-fitable to other manufacturers' models.
“The Alliance congratulates FAKRO on the milestone achievement of being our 700th certified product," said Mark Walters, Chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance. "It's a testament not only to FAKRO's own leadership in its category, but also their longstanding support for Z-Wave as the interoperable standard for wireless control. These days, energy management, particularly of heating and cooling, is not a luxury, it's a life saver. Products like the FAKRO ARZ will lower heating and costs for any home or business.”
Recently, the company announced that it has certified its market-leading 650th product. The certification demonstrates the rapid worldwide growth of the Z-Wave wireless control ecosystem as the key enabler in the "Internet Of Things".
