Transition Networks' Wireless Backhaul Solution Named Finalist in IIR Carrier Ethernet Awards EMEA

Transition Networks (News - Alert), a provider of fiber access technology and services for wireless backhaul, announced that its newly released Network Interface Device (NID) has been named the finalist for the "Best Carrier Ethernet Demarcation Product EMEA 2012" at the IIR Carrier Ethernet Awards EMEA.

S3280, the Network Interface Device (NID) from Transition Networks, features differentiated Quality of Service (QoS) and bandwidth allocation per Ethernet Virtual Circuit enabling service providers to offer tiered Ethernet services to their subscribers.

The features of the S3280 are geared for wireless backhaul and business Ethernet delivery. It also supports Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) applications. The S3280's capabilities are based on precise end-to-end performance measurement tools that allow providers to deliver a myriad of services from a single platform.

"Transition Networks continues to develop quality products for service providers that enable them to deliver Ethernet services for business and mobile backhaul applications within a reliable environment. Our team has put a great deal of time and effort into developing the S3280 so we're thrilled that our work has been recognized and to be on the shortlist for this esteemed award," said Kevin Faulds, director of Product Management at Transition Networks, in a statement.

With S3280, the wireless backhaul solutions provider helps service providers deliver reliable services that are faster and more cost-effective. The solution is designed to meet the most stringent customer demands and address wide-scale deployment challenges, Faulds added.

The S3280 also enables service providers to offer SLA-quality service and support through scalable, intelligent User Network Interface (UNI). Within these tiered services SLAs can be supported and verified through the use of built-in performance monitoring statistics. The wireless backhaul solution reduces operational expenses by providing ways to quickly detect and resolve faults without the need to dispatch a technician to remote locations.

The IIR Carrier Ethernet Awards EMEA will be presented at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday September 18, 2012.
