Want to improve your home Wi-Fi network performance and enjoy a seamless Wi-Fi experience? Then, you can try a comprehensive residential Wi-Fi management service, ASSIA’s Expresse Wi-Fi, which is expected to be generally available in late 2012.
ASSIA is a provider of software tools for dynamic spectrum management (DSM (News - Alert)) of digital subscriber line (DSL) and Wi-Fi networks.
In an effort to provide a comprehensive approach to DSL and Wi-Fi management, ASSIA launched the new Expresse Wi-Fi service. To be available as a cloud-based service, the new product provides advanced diagnosis as well as automatic proactive repair capabilities that improve home Wi-Fi network performance.
Offering a full-featured toolset for Wi-Fi network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, the new Expresse Wi-Fi service can provide real-time analysis, long term cloud-based statistical analysis, automated optimization, hardware neutrality, and more.
The real-time analysis of home Wi-Fi performance by Expresse Wi-Fi also includes the real-time calculation of throughput, latency, and connectivity. The long-term cloud-based statistical analysis of home Wi-Fi performance is offered for better and more efficient optimization.
In addition, the Expresse Wi-Fi can proactively identify, locate, as well as repair problems while reducing the number of technician dispatches. The hardware neutrality solution is available for licensing to any customer premises equipment (CPE) vendor.
According to ASSIA, the Expresse Wi-Fi cloud-based service can integrate with any OSS/BSS system through Web services.
"ASSIA, one of the pioneers of DSL network management, has now taken a strategic next step forward by offering a comprehensive approach to DSL and Wi-Fi management with the launch of Expresse Wi-Fi," said Erik M. Keith, principal analyst, fixed access infrastructure at Current Analysis (News - Alert), in a statement. "This represents not only a major advance for consumers, but also a huge opportunity for application, Internet, and broadband service providers to deliver a superior quality of experience to the end user."
According to sources, AirTies – a digital TV and wireless technology company based in Istanbul - is the first CPE vendor to support ASSIA's new Expresse Wi-Fi product.
Elucidating about the partnership with ASSIA, Philippe Alcaras, CEO for AirTies, said in a statement, "We are excited to work with ASSIA and to introduce Expresse Wi-Fi…As we continue to look for innovative ways to improve the broadband experience, our customers have expressed strong interest in troubleshooting and optimizing home Wi-Fi networks. ASSIA's approach and expertise in DSL network management combined with AirTies' high-performance gateways, deliver a unique, breakthrough solution."
In June, ASSIA had launched DSL Expresse 2.7, a new version of the software for optimizing the performance of DSL networks.
