Recently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC (News - Alert)) and Industry Canada (IC) have granted certification to Lilee Systems’ TransAir PTC-3004 for authorized use throughout the United States and Canada.
The FCC certification for the TransAir PTC-3004 non-broadcast station transmitter was allotted on September 15, 2012, whereas the IC certification was granted on October 2, 2012. The unit has been qualified for both mobile and fixed use throughout the United States and Canada.
The Lilee Systems TransAir suite of products is specifically built for offering fast roaming for seamless wireless connections. This versatile solution claims to deliver an end-to-end Positive Train Control (PTC) communication system to offer the highest level of security for connecting critical control stations for complete rail communications safety, according to the company.
In addition, the entire TransAir PTC family is supported with interoperable 220 MHz Software Defined Radio and Mobility Controller platform, which enables the wireless network transport to allow seamless roaming, transparent network handoff, and persistent communication between the back office, wayside and locomotive networks.
