Earlier this week, a provider of Bluetooth software solutions, Wicentric, Inc., announced that Analog Devices (News - Alert) is using Wicentric's exactLE Stack and Profiles. In a vital signs monitoring demonstration at a recent event, it demonstrated a comprehensive protocol stack and profile solution for Bluetooth Smart devices.
Connecting simultaneously to an iPad, the demonstration shows four body-worn Bluetooth low energy sensors that display real-time charts of received electrocardiogram (ECG) from the single-lead AD8232 heart rate and cardiac monitoring analog front end (AFE) and motion data from the ultralow power ADXL362 3-axis, MEMS accelerometer.
Wicentric's exactLE Stack and Profiles are empowering a new class of low power wireless health and fitness product applications and this demonstration provides a compelling example.
"Analog Devices needed the right software partner to showcase our low power vital sign measurement platform. Wicentric provided Bluetooth low energy system expertise and a reliable, easy to use software solution that ensured a successful demo," said Tony Zarola, Vital Signs monitoring marketing manager, Healthcare Group, Analog Devices.
Jason Hillyard, CEO of Wicentric, stated that the company is excited to be working with an industry leader in sensor and signal processing technology solutions. Supported by Wicentric's software, when low power sensor ICs are combined with bluetooth smart technology, health and fitness product makers will see the potential for innovation.
Wicentric's exactLE Stack and Profiles are designed specifically for bluetooth amart products such as sports & fitness sensors, mobile phone accessories, and healthcare devices. To create competitive products and reduce time-to-market, Wicentric provides manufacturers with the software solutions they need. Available now, Wicentric's exactLE Stack and Profiles are bluetooth 4.0 qualified.
