Wireless Facilities (News - Alert), Inc. (WFI) has long been one of the best in the world when it comes to wireless self performance capabilities. The company has been able to work with a host of different companies in the wireless networks industry in strengthening itself when the need and opportunity came forward.

Earlier this week, WFI announced it had acquired Telecommunications Contracting Company, Inc. (TCCI) in a move that will see TCCI become a part of WFI, as opposed to being completely absorbed and dissolved.

WFI issued a statement in which it made it clear that the company believes the acquisition would make the company that much stronger, especially when it comes to self-performance monitoring and implementation services. WFI was able to deepen its portfolio of services that all work to bring the needed cell-site technical services. 

This particular acquisition is being billed as “synergistic” by Randy Gayer, the senior vice president of WFI.

“TCCI is a natural expansion of our company’s offering with its focus on addressing the tower and site services market,” Gayer said in the company’s official statement. “The addition of TCCI to WFI allows us to offer a broader set of self-performance services – from planning, acquisition, zoning, permitting the whole way through site construction, installation and commissioning.”

Rich Taschek, founder of TCCI, will remain with the company and will be officially named the head of the new Tower Services division. 

“Our company is excited about joining the WFI family. We want to continue to grow our business and offer our customers the highest quality site services available in the market. This combination of WFI will give us the financial strength and capability to significantly expand our business,” said Taschek.

TCCI was first established in 1997 and has provided wireless tower service to various wireless carriers across the United States and in Puerto Rico.
