A manufacturer of point-to-point Gigabit capacity FSO wireless bridges, LightPointe has announced the introduction of extreme low ultra-fast latency point-to-point radios and Free Space Optics wireless bridges.
Faster than any existing backhaul radio or Free Space Optics data bridge, The Aire X-Stream Series includes the world's fastest wireless bridges. After just 10 meters, with equipment latency of less than 10 nanoseconds, an Aire X-Stream Series wireless bridge’s data transmission can outrun a fiber optics transmission.
The increase in performance over fiber and competing radios is significant as the Aire X-Stream bridges can transmit up to several miles. LightPointe has already sold and successfully deployed Aire X-Stream bridges into speed-sensitive applications, such as high-frequency trading.
"Our new Aire X-Stream Series offers the lowest latency solutions in the industry, hundreds of times faster than competing solutions offered by other radio vendors," said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, president and CEO at LightPointe and former chief technology officer since the company's inception in 1998.

At LightPointe, featuring the broadest line of high-speed, low latency solutions available, the Aire X-Stream Series is the culmination of over 14 years of wireless bridge development. The terminal latency has been reduced to an astonishingly low 10 nanoseconds or less.
Moreover, in transmitting their data from point A to point B, its customers are demanding the absolute minimum delay possible, whether they’re a service provider looking at ultra-low latency and transparent Sync-E, IEEE (News - Alert) 1588 Ethernet clock distribution support, or a company involved in the high-frequency trading of stocks.
For shorter distance small cell backhaul, the Aire X- Stream Series includes unlicensed 60 GHz radios and 70/80 GHz for longer range point-to-point connectivity in the protected "light license" band, together with a fourth-generation unlicensed Free Space Optics bridge with the industry's only four-laser beam, auto-tracking system.
