Wireless system integrator, TriPower, signed an alliance with Zinwave (News - Alert), a wireless technology development company, to combine their expertise in cell site location, antenna technology and wireless systems.

With the enormous increase in wireless data traffic from cell phones, smartphones and tablets, wireless operators are aware of the need to deploy dedicated equipment in arenas like the Pepsi Center where usage spikes. The combined effort of TriPower and Zinwave is aimed at supporting the growing demand for advanced wireless devices and services at the Pepsi Center Arena in Denver, Colo.

"The joint effort between TriPower as the deployment partner and Zinwave's 3000 DAS system allows us to deliver an optimum wireless solution for high-demand coverage," Bryan Kemper, president of TriPower, said in a statement.

Kemper also clarified that in addition to ensuring that the calls are successfully connected, the DAS will allow smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices to access the Internet, send text messages and quickly share photos and videos to social networking sites, enabling visitors of the arena to have a great network experience.

Regarding coverage, Kemper mentioned that it will include seating inside the stadium, suites and concession areas.

The Pepsi Center opened in 1999 in the Mile High City, home to the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets, the Pepsi Center seats up to 21,000 fans. The Pepsi Center also hosts Denver's arena football team, the Colorado Crush, and Denver's lacrosse team, the Colorado Mammoth.

When not in use for sporting events, the Pepsi Center provides an arena for concerts and conventions.

“Zinwave is delighted to be working in partnership with TriPower to deliver in-building wireless coverage to the Pepsi Center Arena,” stated Laddy Fleming, executive vice president, Worldwide Sales of Zinwave. “I believe that this winning combination of Zinwave's world class, carrier-grade DAS technology combined with TriPower's superior construction, implementation, and delivery services will provide end users with enhanced wireless coverage and data rates, while simultaneously providing a platform that is frequency and protocol agnostic for ease of growth towards future wireless services.”

The Zinwave 3000 Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is noted to be an active broadband system that can support carrier-specific frequencies and protocols, including LTE (News - Alert) 700MHz.

The new MIMO system will double capacity compared to LTE SISO, CDMA used in second-generation (2G) and third-generation (3G) wireless communications in the 800MHz and 1.9GHz bands, Cellular 800MHz, PCS 1900MHz, AWS 2100MHz.

Installation is now underway on the carrier DAS at the arena, which will deliver advanced wireless coverage, capacity and data speeds during peak network usage.

TriPower recently participated at LTE North America's 5th Annual Conference held in Dallas, TX. This two-day event brought together the leaders of the entire LTE network for unparalleled breadth and depth of discussion around the future of mobile broadband.
