Accelerated Concepts Inc., a provider of wireless network management software platforms and wireless hardware, has expanded its operations down under by opening a Research and Development (R&D) branch in Brisbane, Australia.
Peter Cronk, former president of SnapGear Pty Ltd., has been appointed as general manager of Asia-Pacific by the company to run the new facility.
"We are excited about our decision to locate this strategic part of our business in Australia and look forward to increasing our global footprint in Asia,” said Tom Butts, chairman, president of Accelerated Concepts, Inc., in a statement.
Butts said the appointment of Peter Cronk brings a wealth of international experience to the company.
Peter has over 40 years in the telecommunications industry, and was one of the founding members of Moreton Bay Ventures, which specialized in embedded Linux technologies.

“Opening this new facility in Brisbane will give us access to world class engineering talent and opens up the Asia market to our products and services,” said Cronk.
Company officials said the opening of the international R&D and Operations Center highlights the demand for the company’s advanced networking technologies that address enterprise VPN hardware, 3G/4G cellular WAN backup, and the advanced Accelerated Network Management System (ANMS).
Accelerated Concepts is a provider of enterprise wireless cellular network data hardware and services. The company specializes in the development of solutions for primary network access, wireless 3G/4G backup connectivity, device monitoring and centralized management.
The company also provides Linux-based OEM platforms services from hardware design to complete solutions including management, inventory and configuration.
Accelerated’s solutions are used today in Fortune 500 companies and major Tier 1 telecommunications service providers.
Based in Tampa, Florida, Accelerated Concepts was founded in 2006 with the creation of flagship product, NetBridge. The firm has since added to its offerings to include Wi-Fi extension hardware (NetReach), network management software and virtual private network (VPN) technology.
NetReach is an 802-11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Access Point (News - Alert) designed to work with most customer site routers. It can be centrally configured and managed by the Accelerated Networks Management System (ANMS).
