EXFO (News - Alert) launched the IQS-2800 ITLA Tunable Laser Source, developed with Coherent Solutions. It will be exclusively available from EXFO which supports key technologies like 3G, 4G/LTE (News - Alert), IMS, Ethernet, OTN, FTTx, VDSL2, ADSL2+ and other important systems.
A provider of next-generation test and service assurance solutions for wireline and wireless network operators and equipment manufacturers, EXFO serves the needs of the global telecommunications industry.
Solutions delivered by the company include those required in the development, installation, management and maintenance of converged, IP fixed and mobile networks covering the core to the edge.
The high demand for bandwidth is making it necessary for upgrading transmission systems to accommodate the new capacity limits. This in turn necessitates complex high-order modulation formats such as dual-polarization quadrature phase-shift keying (DPQPSK).
The new IQS-2800 is a modular test solution which will be housed in the IQS-636 platform. It is expected to provide researchers and engineers with an optimized solution that will help them design and test ultra-high-capacity network architectures.
The laser sources are tunable over the C and L bands with a 10-pm resolution. The EXFO IQS-2800 ITLA tunable laser source serves as a versatile solution and matches different application requirements, like coherent/OFDM transmission and WDM network emulation.
Also, the IQS-2800 provides high power output, 100-kHz narrow line width and high-resolution tenability. These features have become imperative for demanding applications such as in 100G and 400G coherent transmission.
EXFO recently announced the addition of packet synchronization testing functionalities, including performance assessment of SyncE and precision time protocol, or IEEE (News - Alert) 1588v2, to its NetBlazer 2.0 series, thus allowing field technicians to validate sync services as part of Ethernet backhaul turn-ups.
The NetBlazer 2.0 series, combined with the SyncWatch-110 Synchronization Test Unit, makes for a complete packet-synchronization testing and monitoring solution that delivers detailed and accurate sync validation throughout the network lifecycle.
