ATDI Preparing Brazil for FIFA and Olympic Games

Preparations are in full swing in Brazil for the upcoming world games as the country has been selected to host the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013, FIFA World Cup in 2014, and Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This requires the country to revamp its communication infrastructure and ANATEL, a Brazilian national spectrum regulatory agency, identified the requirement to upgrade its current spectrum management system in order to support the increased demand for spectrum during these events. ATDI (News - Alert), a company specializing in spectrum management systems, was awarded a contract to build infrastructure for the country.

Having successfully completed the first phase of a USD $12 million project for ANATEL, ATDI is on its way to implement the next generation of spectrum management solutions for ANATEL. ISOFREQ, which has been ATDI’s Brazilian partner for the first phase of the project, will continue to be so for the second phase of the implementation as well.

In the second phase of implementation, ATDI is going to deploy its innovative Web based spectrum management solution, Spectrum (News - Alert)-E. In addition, commercial software components from ATDI's ICS software product line will also be distributed to help make the spectrum management needs in Brazil more efficient.

The company will be providing necessary training for the team. During the entire implementation and delivery process, ATDI representatives will be present to clear the queries relating to the solution.

“We are very excited to contribute to the preparation and success of these world-class events. ANATEL's vision and tech-savvy environment is the perfect place to innovate and create enduring systems for the next decade,” CEO of ATDI Pierre Missud, noted in a statement.

Last year, ATDI won a contract from AFC, APCO's Spectrum Management Division, to provide APCO AFC with a new RF Engineering software platform.  Under the terms of the contract, ATDI was to provide zero-footprint, modified off-the-shelf RF Network Planning tools – ICS telecom and ICS map server – to support the 70 volunteer local advisors that work with AFC.
