Semiconductor solutions provider TranSwitch Corporation confirmed that its TranSwitch’s Atlanta 2000 gigabit communications processors have been selected by TELES (News - Alert), a provider of routing and switching solutions, for its new 3G cellular broadband gateway CELLX.

TranSwitch’s Atlanta 2000 communications processor family is noted to offer wire speed Gigabit routing performance for small packets, with scalability of up to eight low-bit-rate voice channels. This level of performance maximizes packet-processing throughput, enabling service providers to satisfy the demand for voice and data services in both residential and commercial applications.

“We are very pleased that TELES has selected our Atlanta 2000 communications processors for its new 3G Cellular Broadband Gateways,” Tim Blanke, vice president of Sales and Marketing at TranSwitch (News - Alert) said in a statement.

TranSwitch’s communications processor family is designed to provide good performance and reliability for VoIP systems due to the solutions being adopted in communications equipment developed by leading manufacturers.

Oliver Olbrich, president at TELES said that his company is excited to be working closely with TranSwitch to deliver robust and innovative cellular broadband gateways for his business and retail customers.

TranSwitch’s Atlanta 2000 communications processor will now be used by TELES’ CELLX gateways to offer good call clarity, advanced network management capabilities, and high quality of service.

Olbrich believes that this level of performance and reliability represents a compelling, competitive advantage, validated by qualification at several US carriers and continued global sales traction.

In another release, TranSwitch recently announced that Tecnoroll, a developer of digital hardware and software solutions for enterprise and consumer markets, selected its HDplay transceiver for several video encoder solutions, including complete modules embedded in systems sold by major OEMs.
