It almost seems redundant to point out Yahoo’s success over the last year under the leadership of CEO Marissa Mayer. After all, it’s a rare day that the company isn’t making news for either another acquisition or executive-level hire. You wouldn’t be wrong to assume the former is the motivation for this article, since Mayer recently sped past her 19th acquisition in only a year as Yahoo CEO, but this time it’s the latter.

Indeed, earlier this week, Yahoo chief operating officer Henrique De Castro announced on the official Yahoo Tumblr that Ned Brody has joined the company as senior vice president and head of the Americas. In this position, Brody will oversee Yahoo’s advertising business across both North and South America.

“I have known Ned for some time and he is one of the industry’s strongest thought leaders, client partners, business drivers and people managers,” wrote De Castro. “He is known for his analytical insight, solutions-oriented approach to selling, problem solving, and above all, for being a team player. I’m personally excited to work with Ned as we continue to position Yahoo for growth around the world.”

Other recent executive-level hires include Dawn Airey as SVP of EMEA, Andre Christensen as SVP of Strategy and Business Operations, and John DeVine as SVP of Global Ad Operations. It isn’t just the executive team that has received new recruits, however, as Yahoo is in the process of hiring 125 people to fill a new call center being constructed near its data center in Lockport, N.Y.

Aside from the obvious benefits that come with hiring new, talented individuals, Yahoo’s slew of new recruits has helped to keep it in the news, serving as a reminder of its transformation, which goes beyond new employees and acquisitions to include new practices and reinvigorated services.
