The latest acquisition is a company called Zofari. This is a company that uses a variety of different means to match users with places that they may want to go to where they current are.

This week, the word is that Amazon is funding a company called Acquia. This is a commercial open-source software company providing products, services, and technical support for Drupal, which is a free and open-source content management framework written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License.
PrivateCore is a venture-backed startup that develops software to secure server data through server attestation and memory encryption. PrivateCore memory encryption technology protects against threats to servers such as cold boot attacks, hardware advanced persistent threats, rootkits/bootkits, computer hardware supply chain attacks and physical threats to servers from insiders. This week Facebook (News - Alert) acquired PrivateCore for an undisclosed amount.
Something that is currently in the works involves the healthcare field, more specifically, the Electronic Medical Record, or EMR systems. Two companies that hold the market share are Cerner and Siemens, who are currently in talks concerning a buyout. Cerner (News - Alert) is preparing the necessary documents to acquire Siemen's health IT business unit.
