Our emerging companies have fewer solutions deployed so we will hear a mix of single customer and multiple customer mobility solutions. The presentations will include outlining the problem addressed, the goal, timeframe, vendor selection, implementation issues (things like training, pilots, etc), costs and returns. Panelists will share lessons learned, unintended consequences and "what they might do differently" to kick off Q&A.
The established CT company panel will showcase a successful customer, supplier or employee facing mobility solution. This will include outlining the problem addressed, the goal, timeframe, vendor selection, implementation issues (things like training, pilots, etc), costs and returns. Panelists will share lessons learned, unintended consequences and "what they might do differently" to kick off Q&A.
Sponsorships are available at a variety of levels for organizations to take a more active role in the event. There will be ample opportunities to engage in the expo area and the educational programming rooms.

Keeping 34,500 officers, staff, detectives and special units like counter-terrorism on duty 24/7 and ahead of the bad guys required massive changes for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in the wake of 9/11. In 2003, Jim developed a Strategic Systems Plan to move NYPD into the 21st century. During his 11 years as CIO, NYPD completely overhauled its IT environment, investing over $1 billion. Jim contributed to the implementation of multiple high tech centers including the Facial ID center, the PETS system which manages all evidence inventories, the LMSI Center, which monitors terrorist attacks in NYC, the Detective Case Management system where 1 million cases are managed in a modern online computer system and the Real Time Crime Center, a $12 MM real time “mission control” command center for NYPD. Along the way, he implemented more mobility solutions than most of us will encounter in our lifetime:
Prior to his 11 years at NYPD, Jim was CIO of Kraft Foods International, where he directed IT in 40 countries. During his time at Kraft he lived and worked in Brazil, Australia and South Korea. After Kraft, he was VP and CIO of Stanley Works. Jim is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and retired from US Army service as a Captain. A Connecticut native, Jim and his wife live in Ridgefield.
