June 03, 2008
Digium, Inc., the Asterisk Company, is announcing Asteria Solutions Group (News - Alert), developer of Asterisk-based solutions, as its premier software partner.
Asteria offers several software products that supplement Asterisk (News - Alert) and Asterisk Business Edition, widely used open-source telephony software. Asteria software products include Insight and Assist call center solutions and OmegaDial, a scalable automated dialer.
“Asteria has enjoyed working with Digium (News - Alert) the past four years,” said David Mattern, vice president of business development for Asteria. “This partnership agreement formalizes our commitment to the relationship. We look forward to continued participation with Digium and the Asterisk community.”
Digium is the creator and driving force behind Asterisk, the open source voice communications software deployed by more than four million servers worldwide to manage VoIP
calls for businesses and individuals.
Resellers, telecom professional and software developers choose Digium’s products over other open source telephony companies because Digium’s delivers the technical superiority, security and flexibility associated with Asterisk, the companies claim.
Asterisk powers Digium’s family of software and hardware appliances, including AsteriskNOW, Asterisk Business Edition and Switchvox (News - Alert).
“Asteria is a strong supporter of Asterisk, and their software products are good supplements for companies building solutions based on Asterisk and Digium products,” said Bill Miller (News - Alert), vice president product management and marketing for Digium. “We welcome Asteria as a premier software partner in our ecosystem and look forward to working with them even more closely in the future.”
Asteria Solutions Group began as a technical services and support provider for Asterisk-based PBXs. Leveraging extensive Asterisk and traditional telephony experience, Asteria has expanded its offerings to include commercial software products for call centers, broadcast messaging, custom notification systems and PBXs.
Digium, Inc., the Asterisk Company, created, owns and is the innovative force behind Asterisk, the most widely used open source telephony software. Since its founding in 1999, Digium has become the open source alternative to propriety communication providers, with offerings that cost as much as 80 percent less.
