An increasing number of companies are reportedly adopting the software-as-a-service, or SaaS (News - Alert), Inventory and Warehouse Management System from SmartTurn Inc. to take advantage of the economic recovery. The on-demand warehouse management systems from SmartTurn provide enterprise class functionality at a fraction of the cost of traditional license and install software.

Economic pressures have renewed focus on the supply chain forcing companies to use SmartTurn's WMS to quickly augment or replace existing WMS systems. In addition, there is an uncertainty surrounding trading partners due to operational reductions over the past 12 months. The increased visibility enabled by SmartTurn’s WMS provides the mission-critical information for making informed decisions.

The 2009 Global Survey of Supply Chain Progress from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and Michigan State University revealed that 88 percent of survey respondents have set objectives for purchasing supply chain tools to generate cost savings in the next 12 months. SmartTurn customers have witnessed inventory accuracy reaching 99 percent in addition to the generation of thousands of dollars in positive cash flow each month.

During recession, the adoption of SaaS WMS has increased due to benefits like faster implementation, less upfront capital cost and fewer training requirements. Companies like Argent Associates rely more on SmartTurn's affordable WMS system in lieu of Excel files, paper-based systems or expensive on-premise software. According to Ray Moya, chief operating officer of Argent Associates, SmartTurn's online inventory control provides the flexibility to meet their customer’s unique requirements.

The SmartTurn system integrates inventory and warehouse management processes through one centralized system to provide companies real-time visibility and control into the movement of inventory across multiple warehouses or within a single location. Designed for growing companies, the SmartTurn system automates manual-based processes from purchasing to shipping.

The customer base of SmartTurn includes 3PLs, wholesale distributors, food service suppliers and manufacturers. The award-winning system starts at $500 per month per facility with unlimited number of users and transactions. When compared to the average maintenance fees of traditional installed software, it costs significantly less to deploy and operate the SmartTurn system.

SmartTurn provides capabilities like built-in ubiquitous inventory visibility across customers' selling channel for "sell-side" logistics, as well as with suppliers on the "buy-side" with its unique unlimited user access model.
