Hitachi Solutions Grabs Canadian ERP And BI Provider
December 05, 2013
Hitachi (News - Alert) Solutions America, a provider for a variety of business software and services, has recently announced that its Canadian subsidiary, Hitachi Solutions Canada, has acquired a consulting company called Ideaca, which will add to the amount of services and products it will provide to its business clients. This also plays into the goal of expanding its global customer base by putting more resources to good use to deliver all of its services.
Ideaca is a company with many locations throughout Canada and more than 350 clients under its belt. Its specialties include enterprise resource planning (ERP), business intelligence (BI), portals and collaboration, and customer relationship management (CRM), among many other solutions that greatly enhance the efficiency of its clients' operations.
Muneer Hirji, the newly appointed president leading Ideaca's continuing operations, said, “Ideaca is extremely pleased to join a global brand with the outstanding caliber of Hitachi Solutions. We look forward to integrating our experience and strengthening our synergies to bring great industry-focused solutions to both regionally-focused and multinational companies throughout Canada. With its long history of technology excellence, industry leadership and employee-driven culture, Hitachi Solutions will make a great home for our employees.”
Hitachi's focus in Canada was a response to the growing demand for employment opportunities for highly-skilled individuals, which is why in April of this year, Hitachi Solutions has created a Canadian subsidiary. The subsidiary also serves the purpose of better serving its Canadian customer base and conquer more of the already-growing Canadian market, establishing a strong foothold in the country's market.
As part of the acquisition, Ideaca will dissolve into Hitachi Solutions Canada, making it a part of the Business Solutions Group within the company's enormous infrastructure. This group is known for making some of the best solutions that Hitachi has to offer, and for providing software expertise and intellectual property services.
Rob Adams, the general manager of Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics Canada, a company that provides ERP services to large, medium, and small businesses, had this to say about the acquisition: “With this acquisition, Hitachi Solutions is now even better positioned to elevate Microsoft Dynamics solutions and services available to clients throughout Canada. This is a significant milestone that will help us continue to gain a stronger foothold in this key market.”
