Sitel, a global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider, has unveiled a new customer care facility in Berlin, Germany.
Scheduled to open on October 1, 2008, the new center is expected to bring up to 1,000 new jobs to the Berlin community over the next three years.
The company said they chose Berlin for its excellent communication infrastructure, multilingual workforce and tremendous opportunity for growth.
Harald Wolf, mayor of Berlin and economics senator pointed out that Berlin has space to expand, and presents internationally operating service enterprises with outstanding conditions.
Alexander Langhans, managing director for Sitel Germany and Eastern Europe said that in Berlin, Sitel will have no trouble finding international, multilingual, highly motivated and well educated staff, and will be able to expand quickly. He emphasized that opening this facility in Berlin clearly highlights Sitel's ambitious growth plans and will help cement their position as one of the leading BPOs in Germany, as well as around the world.
Sitel already employs over 3,000 agents in Germany at seven centers across Krefeld, Düsseldorf, Dessau and Wittenberg and is privately held and majority owned by Canadian diversified company, Onex Corporation.
The company provides on-shore, nearshore and offshore locations across 140+ facilities throughout North America, South America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
In recent related news, Sitel said the company is committed to running smoothly even under threats such as hurricane Gustav, and noted their Bogalusa, Louisiana contact center is ready for the hurricane with a proven and experience-hardened business continuity plan (BCP) that was created before Katrina slammed into the state.
