Considering the growth potential of life science industry, Pegasystems (News - Alert) Inc., a company in Business Process Management (BPM) and software for customer centricity has introduced customer relationship management (CRM).

Pega Customer Process Manager (CPM) for Life Sciences is specifically designed to allow organizations to increase operational cost efficiencies while providing superior customer interactions consistently across all communication channels. According to a press release, this solution can include sales and marketing activities, key opinion leader (KOL) management, patient assistance and automated subject retention programs.

Melonie Warfel, principal of Life Sciences Solutions at Pegasystems said, “In order to be successful in addressing customer needs in this highly regulated market, life sciences organizations need to leverage advanced technology to interact with their customers and to transform customer interaction into competitive advantage.  With this newest addition to our growing portfolio of industry-leading Pega BPM solutions for life sciences, organizations can quickly respond to ongoing changes in a market, business segment or even a specific region.”

The life sciences industry is evolving from concentrating on product-focused business strategies to a more customer focused model. Life sciences organizations must gain competitive advantage by getting closer to all of their customers and partners through every channel across functions, regions, and customer segments.

In his June 2010 report, “The Future of CRM Design,” Eric Newmark, program director of Business Systems Strategies at IDC (News - Alert) said, “Right now, CRM is viewed as an application that requires constant interaction with, and utilization of (CRM), to make it useful. Instead, CRM should be a process that runs in the background, intelligently capturing all information on its own.”

With this new Pega solution, organizations can effectively integrate all CRM interactions, across clinical, safety, support and sales and marketing, to achieve new levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

It leverages CRM to facilitate safety and risk management, as well as more efficient regulatory compliance. Leveraging Pega’s Build for Change technology, life sciences organizations can tailor the solution to quickly adapt to new markets and address changing business and regulatory needs.

In other company news, TMCnet reported that Pegasystems has recently introduced the latest version of Pega BPM applications.
