Zeus Technology (News - Alert), a software-based application delivery controller company that helps customers to create, manage and deliver exceptional online services in Physical, Virtual and Cloud environments, is helping Virgin Media, a global entertainment and communications company, to boost its online customer experience.
The solution ensures that more than 4 million Virgin Media customers, even during spikes in demand, receive fast and available Web and e-mail services. Zeus is also being used by Virgin Media to migrate users onto a new function-rich e-mail system which is to get completed by the second quarter of 2010.
The new function-rich e-mail system has an easy-to-use interface with more features and storage space than before.
Virgin Media chose Zeus for its flexibility, ease of deployment and its ability to maintain 100 per cent uptime. Also Zeus provides a pure software solution with which the service levels can be scaled up or down using little effort.
Alex Brown, senior product manager, Internet Products, Virgin Media, says, “Virgin Media faced a number of technical challenges that Zeus has helped us overcome. We wanted to offer customers better email and web services but at the same time ensure we can deliver them without impacting service levels or compromising security. Since we are dealing with massive volumes of traffic, reliability and performance is of paramount importance. The Zeus solution has risen to the challenge by accelerating the email migration faultlessly to deliver better online services.”
Paul Brennan, CEO, Zeus Technology, comments, “As the only quad-play service provider in the UK, delivering superior service is Virgin Media’s number one priority. Zeus is allowing the company to create and manage exceptional web and email services that will help it drive market share and maintain its reputation for industry excellence.”
In related news, Virgin Media has entered into a partnership relation with Brightcove Inc, a provider of an online video content delivery platform, to use Brightcove's platform for the delivery of short form video content across the Virginmedia.com website.
