With more than 1.3 billion people expected in the mobile workforce by 2015, the need to implement solutions capable of dealing with the number of devices, applications and operating systems is extremely important. As more companies introduce bring your own device (BYOD) policies not only for their employees but also partners and customers, the right management platform can resolve many of the difficulties companies will be facing. In order to address the mobile needs of its customers, Pegasystems (News - Alert) (News - Alert), a business process management (BPM) and provider of customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, acquired Antenna Software, provider of mobile application development platforms (MADP).
With this acquisition, Pegasystems will have access to resources that are used by enterprises around the world to leverage the power of mobile applications to run their businesses more effectively when integrating mobile solutions. The Antenna mobility Platform as a Service (PaaS) removes the complex issues associated with security, integration, application management, and development time and costs.
According to Pegasystems, combining the technology and talent of both companies will provide its customers:

Antenna provides enablement, strategic consulting, implementation, training and support using its AMPchroma mobility platform. Additionally, it allows for the creation, execution and managing of cross-platform applications to attract and retain customers.
"Traditional mobile technology can lead to separate channel-specific applications which hamper customer service and efficient operations. Pega's distinctive customer-centric approach to mobility enables business users and IT to create optimal customer experiences across channels and devices. We believe that mobile devices should seamlessly operate with processes and cases to drive work to done. Pega and Antenna coming together offers our collective clients state-of-the-art mobile development, responsive UIs, device management and cloud-based Backend-as-a-Service," said Alan Trefler (News - Alert) (News - Alert), founder and CEO of Pegasystems, in a statement.
