TwinStrata, a provider of cloud-based data storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions, announced it has added support for the Rackspace (News - Alert) Cloud Files online cloud storage solution to extend storage capacity to meet the demand from its customers.

Leveraging the TwinStrata (News - Alert) CloudArray storage gateway and Rackspace Cloud Files, businesses can be relieved from purchasing and managing their own arrays. They never run out of capacity. They can get enterprise-class storage by simply spinning up one or more CloudArray virtual appliances whenever and wherever needed.

The service also makes cloud storage access as fast as local storage and “addresses peaks and valleys in demand by dynamically adding or deleting storage capacity,” Vekiarides added.

TwinStrata recently announced the release of CloudArray storage gateway which allows organizations to implement Cloud SANs and enterprise storage solutions. CloudArray makes way for the seamless combination of public and private cloud and also existing SAN, NAS or DAS storage, company officials said.

TwinStrata CloudArray cloud storage gateway is available in both virtual and physical appliance configurations. It connects customers’ applications and backup infrastructure to the cloud, offering limitless storage capacity without the cost, complexity and risks associated with off-site infrastructure or tape.

The service also includes features like dynamic caching, in-flight/at-rest data encryption, de-duplication, bandwidth optimization, in-cloud snapshots, high availability and ability to access restored data from anywhere.
