Polycom Recognized for Leadership in Communications and Collaboration

Conference phones and collaboration solutions provider Polycom (News - Alert) recently won three industry awards: a “best products” award from InfoWorld, a “best products”award from INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine and a “superior design” award from iF. The company was also recognized by VoIP News for its industry leadership.

iF 2008 Product Design Awards
The Polycom KIRK 5020 wireless handset won an iF product design award. Designed for general office use, the KIRK 5020 has an intuitive user interface. The device utilizes the large color display with icons as well as text. Bestowed annually, the iF product design awards are considered the most highly regarded design honors worldwide. Judges pick winners from more than 2,500 entries representing over 1,000 companies in 35 countries across the globe.
The VoIP-News Top 20 VoIP Influencers for 2007
This award recognizes people who have been instrumental in transitioning the trend from VoIP-as-telephone-replacement to VoIP-as-enabler-of-business-processes. Owen Linderholm credited Robert Hagerty, Polycom chairman and CEO, as one of 20 such industry luminaries. Hagerty was been recognized for leading Polycom in its efforts to take "the phone quality of VoIP to an unprecedented level. 
InfoWorld 2008 Technology of the Year Awards
Both the Polycom SoundPoint IP 650 desk phone and the SoundStation IP 4000 conference phone have been picked by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers for the publication’s 2008 Technology of the Year Awards. InfoWorld noted that the SoundPoint IP 650 call quality is simply stellar. This makes it one of the best-sounding VoIP handsets InfoWorld has ever used, with any codec. According to InfoWorld, the SoundStation IP4000 is the best conference room speakerphone on the market, analog or digital.
INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine's 10th Annual Product of the Year Awards
Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC (News - Alert)) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine has awarded both the Polycom CX family of high definition (HD) phones and the Polycom HDX 8000 Series HD video collaboration solutions its 2007 Product of the Year Award. Offering comprehensive HD video collaboration capabilities, the Polycom HDX 8000 Series is ideal for mid-range conference and meeting rooms.
TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of Internet Telephony magazine, Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) said in a statement that Polycom has proven its commitment to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace.
Tehrani noted: “We are pleased to grant them not one, but two 2007 Product of the Year Awards for their innovation in voice and video communications. Polycom deserves this honor for its hard work and accomplishments, and we look forward to more innovative solutions from Polycom in the coming year.”
