NetSuite Announces New Version of NetSuite OneWorld for Oracle Customers

Earlier this year, CRM software vendor NetSuite announced a new version of NetSuite OneWorld for SAP (News - Alert) customers, enabling them to use NetSuite "at the divisional level," while retaining their SAP on-premises systems at the corporate level.

Through the integration of the two platforms, made possible through NetSuite’s (News - Alert) “SuiteCloud Connect for SAP,” large SAP legacy accounts can use NetSuite's on-demand application to manage business operations and roll up division-level transaction and summary data.

At the time, Zach Nelson (News - Alert), CEO of NetSuite, said that NetSuite OneWorld for SAP “enables large companies to keep their investment in legacy business applications, while deploying a Web-based business application suite that reduces costs.”

NetSuite knows nobody's going to rip out their expensive enterprise CRM/ERP systems -- but they also know they're not getting everything they want from them, either. So by filling the holes in other vendors’ solutions, NetSuite is getting new customers to use its CRM software on what might be called an “auxilliary” basis – with the hope that once they discover the benefits of NetSuite’s cloud-based software, they might eventually adopt it as a full replacement to their on-premises systems.

Now NetSuite is going after Oracle (News - Alert) customers with the same strategy. The company today introduced a new version of NetSuite OneWorld that lets Oracle E-Business Suite enterprise customers use NetSuite’s cloud-based CRM software at the divisional level while retaining current investments in Oracle applications at the corporate level. This new integration capability is made possible via SuiteCloud Connect for Oracle.
Just as with the NetSuite OneWorld for SAP offering, Oracle customers can use NetSuite's cloud-based software to manage multinational, multi-subsidiary business operations in real-time and then roll up division-level transaction and summary data to the on-premises system to gain a more holistic view of business operations. NetSuite asserts that in order to compete effectively, corporate divisions, subsidiaries and affiliates “need software systems that are more malleable, customizable and flexible than what is provided by the corporate parent company.”

“NetSuite OneWorld helps to address this need by delivering a modern, cloud-based software system that enables the management of divisions within complex, multinational corporations and multi-subsidiary companies, with integration to Oracle E-Business Suite at the corporate level,” the company stated in a press release.

Jollibee Foods Corporation, one of Asia's largest fast food chains, with more than 1,800 stores in Asia and North America, is reportedly already seeing the benefits of this integration capability.

"In building a worldwide business, our vision on information is to diminish geographic borders and time," said Ysmael Baysa, CFO, Jollibee Foods Corporation, in the release. “We expect to see the financial information about a store in Shanghai just as fast and complete as one in Manila. By integrating with Oracle financial applications, NetSuite is helping us realize this vision. Going forward, our current plan is to continue supporting our Philippine and corporate operations with Oracle financials, implement NetSuite in all of our foreign operations and establish an efficient interface between these two systems.”

As with the SuiteCloud Connect for SAP offering, NetSuite says its Professional Services division, as well as its global partner network, stand ready to offer expertise in all aspects of Oracle integration. Key integration partners include Pervasive Software (News - Alert), Cast Iron Systems and Boomi.
