Guitar Hero Website Ready for the Holiday Rush Thanks to NetSuite's Cloud-based Ecommerce Solution

Activision (News - Alert) Publishing Inc., maker of the multi-million copy selling videogame Guitar Hero, has reportedly improved e-commerce operations for its Guitar Hero website using NetSuite’s cloud-based CRM software.

According to a press release, the company has been using NetSuite (News - Alert) to power its Guitar Hero website for about a year to account for online revenues and cost of goods sold, provide customer support, and perform deep analytics into customer activities and keyword campaign success.
By migrating to a cloud-based solution, Guitar Hero has reduced support time by one-third during the busy holiday season. Although the release doesn’t mention which solutions it used previously – whether hosted or on-premises – it does mention that it was “multi-vendor,” therefore chances are Guitar Hero has also reduced its carbon footprint through the outsourcing of applications and infrastructure to a cloud-based software provider.

With NetSuite, Guitar Hero has greatly simplified its customer support through integrated records and a single point of contact. This, in turn, has significantly improved turnaround time.

Integrated campaign analytics allow Guitar Hero to monitor and adjust the performance of its keyword marketing and promotional sales tactics. NetSuite also delivers powerful merchandising and promotional opportunities with the ability to cross-promote, alter pricing and introduce new merchandising campaigns quickly and efficiently.

"None of the other options we considered were nearly as well integrated as NetSuite," said Michael Pan, senior e-commerce manager at Guitar Hero, in a release. "The NetSuite e-commerce experience has been seamless."

NetSuite Ecommerce lets companies manage their Web store, inventory management, order fulfillment and accounting systems, as well as customer relationship management (CRM) via a single, tightly integrated, cloud-based platform. With this powerful business software, even small merchants can deliver an intuitive, " (News - Alert)-like" experience to their customers, and better manage and grow their business.

NetSuite offers two industry-specific editions of its Ecommerce solution -- NetSuite Ecommerce Company Edition and the premium NetSuite Ecommerce+ Company Edition. Both solutions offer merchants complete web store features; web site building and hosting; built-in site analytics & reporting; high touch, low cost customer self-service; best-of-class accounting/financials and superior ecommerce marketing tools. These solutions are also ideally suited to B2B merchants.

NetSuite made news on TMCnet last month when it announced that Aria Systems had integrated its on-demand billing and subscription management solution with NetSuite’s core billing engine by way of NetSuite’s SuiteCloud developer platform. The combined solution is targeted at companies that offer subscription-based products or services or which are thinking of adding them. Thus it will be of interest to businesses that bill based on usage, such as online data storage, ad space or pay-per-click.
