Salesforce.com has announced that Graham Smith, Chief Financial Officer at Salesforce.com, will present at the Roth Capital Investor Bus Tour Monday, June 15, at 10 a.m. in San Francisco. An audio Webcast of Smith’s presentation will be available on Salesforce.com’s Web site at www.salesforce.com/investor.
As of April 30, 2009, Salesforce.com officials claim the company manages customer information for approximately 59,300 customers, including Dell (News - Alert), Dow Jones Newswires, Kaiser Permanente and SunTrust Banks. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Europe and Asia, and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
In April TMC reported that NetSuite (News - Alert) announced a series of partner applications bringing their business application computing cloud together with that of Salesforce.com. “SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com connects the NetSuite and Salesforce.com cloud platforms, the idea being to let Salesforce.com customers integrate their Customer Relationship Management processes with the on-demand Enterprise Resource Planning and e-commerce functionality of NetSuite.
This move comes about six months after NetSuite launched a marketing campaign to win over Salesforce.com clients by offering deep discounts for those who switched over. Now the company has evidently decided that it’s better business to get along and play nicely with others.
“With SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com,” NetSuite officials said at the time, “businesses can now benefit from integration between Salesforce.com and NetSuite,” ticking off “an integrated lead-to-cash process, customer visibility for sales, and the elimination of manual processes across business units” such benefits.
Michael Fauscette, group VP, software business solutions at IDC (News - Alert) (News - Alert), said in a release that “more of this kind of flexibility and openness is needed to unlock the huge potential of cloud computing.” Most observers see the move as more of a shot in the arm for NetSuite than Salesforce.com, with relatively few Salesforce.com customers currently using on-demand ERP suites of the kind marketed by NetSuite.”
Earlier this year TMCnet’s Jai C.S. reported that InvestLink (News - Alert) Technologies, a software developer for Third Part Administrators, chose M5’s hosted VoIP phone system for all locations serving staff in New York, Massachusetts, Texas and Tennessee. M5 Networks’ (News - Alert) solution was chosen by InvestLink for Salesforce integration and its hosted VoIP solution which will now allow executives at InvestLink to totally transform their business power. “They will utilize M5 Scribe to transcribe all voicemail messages,” C.S. wrote.
