DIDX Members Leverage the Blackberry

While the current global recession is seeing many startups locked out of moving forward – especially into office spaces – there is still a way to create a presence in key areas of the world where their product and services are likely to thrive.

And it is through a Direct Inward Dialed (DID) number. DIDX offers these numbers in 55 countries and says it is a great jump start and a way to compete effectively.
DIDX is a registered and patented service of Super Technologies, Inc. In 2005, immediately following the company’s exponentially increased number of international services, Super Technologies, Inc. saw the need for an electronic platform for international provision and exchange of DID numbers. There was none. Thus, DIDX was created.

The idea, says DIDX President Rehan Allahwala, is pull in customers with technological tools such as virtual offices and DIDs. With this technology  successful growth can be a reality. “Real estate and physical presence no longer are a necessary part of a great product or service,” said Allahwala.
On recent client SACS, an international steel trading company with 14 locations worldwide and 200 business clients, already had a Cisco (News - Alert) unified communications backbone for their IP PBX with integration of RIM (Research in Motion) Blackberry MVS (Mobility Voice Suite).
 The company was looking to increase their global presence.

The One Number Reach that DIDX provides now enables them to have one phone number ring at the user's desk phone and the Blackberry simultaneously. With a Blackberry connected to the PBX (News - Alert) plus a laptop and data card in the hands of each of their global sales staff, all can access and use the company's CRM and ERP systems.
"DIDX has been a great asset in accessing global DIDs for a virtual presence,” said Omar Ali Chohan, CFO and vice president of SACS. "DIDX has truly assisted in exponential growth of the company.”
Chohan says the company  chose DIDs from DIDX sellers because of the high vendor rating. “We're also able to control those DIDs from one central location, very convenient," said Chohan.
How it works: Calls are routed via SIP into the SACS' PBX to, for example, their United States or Dubai office. They are then provisioned as Blackberry calls on One Number Reach.

In addition, the MVS offering enables DID to be used as a mask for inbound and outbound calls. The caller ID will not be the Blackberry number but instead the DID from DIDX. The company is extremely careful about following the law in regards to items such as do not call.

"Cloud-based business and cloud-based computing are popular today, and DIDX is a real part of that for companies like ours who need local presence in hundreds of global locations," said Chohan. "Why not have companies like HQ and Regus Group resell your DIDs? They have over 800 physical locations. They could offer more."
