Igloo Software, a cloud intranet provider, equipped its Software as a Service platform with a series of mobile and web enhancements which include a new responsive design and new mobile applications for Android (News - Alert) and iOS devices.
Igloo Software is delivered in one’s web browser, so they can access it from almost any computer with a Web browser, including mobile devices running on iOS and Android. The newly unveiled Responsive design brings a full and consistent intranet experience to any desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Users will have the capability to shift devices and resize the browsers and based on the screen size, content and navigation automatically adjusts.
Igloo also announced new mobile applications for both iOS and Android for streamlining the so called mobile experience enabling users to find contacts, review documents and get an at-a-glance view into activity, simplifying their need to stay connected on the go.
Andrew Dixon, SVP of marketing & operations at Igloo said that, “The blurring between work and home life, new mobile platforms and the rapid adoption of the cloud are trends that are coming together to redefine the way we work. Work is no longer a place – that means that people need the flexibility to be productive wherever, whenever and on whatever device they are using.”
Some of the notable features and benefits of Igloo’s SaaS (News - Alert) platform are: eliminates expensive infrastructure investments, heavy IT involvement and costly customizations; faster returns on collaboration technology; scalable and flexible; cloud-based applications allow more rapid and iterative releases meaning more frequent updates are easily available.
To meet the needs of its ever-expanding international customer base, Igloo claimed that it now supports multilingual translations for a total of nine languages including German and Italian, and the company has a full service agency in house to provide custom design, architecture, implementation and training.
