In an effort to deliver secure COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) mobile devices to the Imaging Channel dealer network, machine-to-machine (M2M) and machine-to-people (M2P) solutions provider MWA Intelligence, Inc. (MWAi) collaborated with Green Hills Software, a supplier of embedded and mobile virtualization solutions, under a strategic partnership agreement.
Imaging Channel is a printing, imaging and value added reseller (VAR) channel-focused media firm.
Under the terms of the partnership agreement, MWAi will be able to deliver its Mobile Trust devices and solution, which are pre-programmed with Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY Multivisor security technology, to Imaging Channel’s field service operators.
With this, Imaging Channel’s field service operators will be able to experience military-grade security for business data and applications and privacy for clients while leveraging the MWAi’s Mobile Trust devices.
The MWAi Mobile Trust, in general, is a family of smartphones and tablets built with INTEGRITY Multivisor virtualization technology for Android and enabled by MWAi FORZA with SAP (News - Alert) Business One technology.
According to Michael T. Stramaglio, president and CEO of MWA Intelligence, the MWAi FORZA will facilitate Imaging Channel dealers to deploy services to their 50,000 field representatives and technicians with high-quality protection, security, trust and privacy.
The Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY Multivisor security technology, which is present in the MWAi Mobile Trust solution, is built upon security-certified separation kernel technology. This separation kernel -based type-1 hypervisor technology provides isolation between one or more guest operating systems (personas).
Offering several approaches to virtualization in ARM-powered devices, the INTEGRITY Multivisor security technology also provides a native open standard execution environment for security-critical tasks, including FIPS 140-2-certified and NSA Suite B-compliant data encryption, user authentication, security event auditing, and remote management.
Currently, the MWAi Mobile Trust devices are available for trials with Imaging Channel dealers. Together, MWAi and Green Hills Software, will offer Imaging Channel dealers with device acquisition and delivery, front-line integration, as well as technical support to both users and enterprise administrators, cited a press release.
"Our relationship with MWAi extends back many years and has always focused on expert security solutions for the print and imaging market," said GorDon Jones, vice president for secure virtualization, Green Hills Software, in a statement. "INTEGRITY Multivisor security architecture provides the dealer network with military-grade security while delivering the latest consumer smartphone solutions with modern multimedia and social networking capability."
Earlier, the MWAi Mobile Trust’s architecture was delivered to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to address stringent security, privacy and manageability standards.
