Fax Over IP

solutions provider FaxCore (News - Alert) participated in the recent On Demand Conference and Exposition put on by Association for Information and Image Management (now known as AIIM – The Enterprise Content Management Association)—a sure sign that the data and imaging industries are becoming more and more integrated with telecommunications.
FaxCore exhibited its solutions at the Sharp (News - Alert) Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) booth. The two companies highlighted integration of their products. Sharp’s Open Systems Architecture (OSA) platform enables multifunction peripherals (MFPs) to be networked with data, workflow and related applications—including FaxCore’s line of fax servers.
“By turning the MFP into a multifunctional portal, resellers can provide their customers with more tailored solutions to better fit their requirements,” explained FaxCore’s senior vice president Max Schroeder (News - Alert).
Specifically, FaxCore had on display its OSA solution using the company’s Mini-Bundle—an appliance-type system that ties together the FaxCore software application, Dialogic/Brooktrout (News - Alert) fax products (for both traditional fax and fax over IP) and a server.
“This solution is pre-staged so that it can be shipped to a customer site and installed remotely,” Schroeder told TMCnet. “The installation service and the first year of maintenance are also included in the purchase price so it is a very complete package.”
He added that the solution is specifically designed to meet the needs of small companies and resellers for whom addressing the telecom market is not a primary focus.
SIICA is a division of Sharp Electronics Corp (subsidiary of Sharp Corp in Japan) that markets color MX Series MPF systems designed to help companies manage workflows and increase productivity. The parent Sharp Corp makes home entertainment products, appliances, networked office solutions, solar energy products and mobile communication tools.
