FaxCore Tuning Up its Fax Server Engines

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Doing business in a tightening economy can be a struggle. Often, logic dictates that  holding off on making any purchases until the financial climate evens out is the best course of action. However, whether it’s buying a car for yourself or new fax servers for your business, waiting too long is often a mistake.

In fact, the U.S. government recently passed legislation designed to encourage individuals to trade in their old gas-guzzling vehicles for newer, more efficient models. Aside from fuel savings, there are other reasons drivers may want to trade in their old vehicles including: environmentally, new model are much Greener; new vehicles reduce maintenance costs and often incorporate new technologies such as in vehicle GPS navigation, satellite, mobile phone and other communications features.
Now, while most people wouldn’t think of a new fax server in the same manner they would a new car, there are similarities to the benefits of upgrading now.
For example, the FaxCore (News - Alert) 2007 product line is a meaner and Greener solution versus the competition and can include Fax over Internet Protocol, or FoIP, leveraging products such as Dialogic’s SR140, Cisco (News - Alert) Call manager and Avaya Communications Manager.
The FaxCore platform is the only FoIP solution built on the Microsoft .NET (News - Alert) Framework and has emerged as an ideal choice for companies seeking to upgrade their faxing capabilities using the latest, most state-of-the-art technology, according to the company.
Because FaxCore 2007 SP1 is built on the .NET Framework, it integrates seamlessly with existing network systems to enable fast document delivery and 21st Century mobility services. Using this solution, a wide range of business software and functions can be fax-enabled, including CRM, ERP, Exchange and e-mail.
According to FaxCore President Tom Linhard, FaxCore 2007 SP1 has a much lower annual maintenance cost than many leading fax server products. In fact, he says, companies can offset the cost of acquiring FaxCore 2007 with the money saved on maintenance on your old solution.
The bottom line is that putting off the purchase of new technologies, such as a new FaxCore product , in order to save money can actually have the opposite result,” said Linhard.
The Denver-based company also uses Dialogic’s (News - Alert) SR140 which supports higher transmission speeds, higher compression and Error Correction Mode resulting in overall transmissions times up to 8 times faster than older technologies.
One item you need to check immediately is the cost of annual support and maintenance for your old fax server solution.  Then give FaxCore a call and to determine that their maintenance would cost for a solution with an equal number of fax lines,” said Linhard.  He also added, you can take FaxCore for a test drive at .
