As a member of TMC’s (News - Alert) Editorial team, I look forward to the ITEXPO trade show twice a year for several reasons, not the least of which is getting to watch the best and brightest minds in the communications technology industry hash it out with each other during moderated panel discussions on various topics. From everything including net neutrality, to cloud-based call centers, ITEXPO (News - Alert) is a forum for global leaders to talk about the latest trends, and the world of fax is one such topic that will be in focus at this February’s ITEXPO in Miami.
As a provider of smart fax technologies, and a figure in the fax-over-IP realm, Commetrex (News - Alert) is a regular at the show, attending with a booth on the exhibit hall show floor, and participating in discussions in related sessions. On Thursday, February 2, Mike Coffee, CEO of Commetrex, will participate in a session titled “The Paperless Office,” with several other well-known figures in the industry.
I got a chance to speak with Coffee as he prepares for such a discussion to find out what exactly the paperless office is, how it’s changing, and what sort of impact fax has on improving workplace communication. Coffee noted that he plans on emphasizing “work-flow automation rather than paper elimination… But just as increasing revenue and profit is a consequence of running a business well, so too is a reduction in paperwork a consequence of work-flow automation.”
Joined by Quentin Dible from FaxSIPit, John Harrison from OpenText, and Max Schroeder from FaxCore (News - Alert), Coffee will encourage discussion on identifying business processes that can be objects of automation in order to improve workflow.
“My perspective is that of a platform supplier, while FaxSIPit, Open Text, and FaxCore have the perspectives of fax-server and work-flow automation vendors,” noted Coffee. As a holder of several patents in fax and Internet-related technologies, he is looking forward to joining his competitors in this regard.
Check out more information from Commetrex at ITEXPO February 1-3, and enjoy a pre-show look into some of the exciting news to come from the fax industry by watching a video interview between TMC’s Editorial Director, Erik Linask (News - Alert) and Coffee, himself.
